Kenmerkend voor deze locs waren de grote ketels, grote vuurplaat, het met dwarsbalken versterkte chassis en het ruime en &#8220;comfortabele&#8221; machinistenhuis.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>De 01&#8217;s waren prachtige 2 cilinder machines, die hoog op hun wielen stonden. In de jaren 20 en 30 van de vorige eeuw reden de 01&#8217;s aan kop van alle belangrijke sneltreinen. Na 1930 werd de maxmumsnelheid omhoog gebracht tot 160 km\/u.<br \/>\nDit vereiste een grotere cylinderdiameter, langere ketelbuizen, een krachtiger remsysteem en grotere wielen. Deze verschenen met het werknummer 01 10 op het spoor.<br \/>\nNadat het Duitse Rijk in twee delen uiteen viel, reden 171 &#8220;01-locs&#8221; in het Westen en 70 exemplaren in het Oosten.<br \/>\nBij de DB hebben deze locs tot 1973 in de actieve dienst gereden. In het Oosten hebben ze het tot 1981 volgehouden.<br \/>\nNadat de laatste pacific 01 van het spoor was verdwenen betekende dit het einde van het tijdperk
